DOJ Mole Helped NYC Brim Gang ‘Bloods’ Intimidate Witnesses

A paralegal at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey “repeatedly” helped the Bloods street gang “protect its interests by identifying and exposing informants and cooperating witnesses,” CNN reports.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, “over a period of more than two years,” Tawanna Hilliard raided her office computer to dig up names of informants testifying against her 28-year-old son’s local pack of hoodlums, New York City’s 5-9 Brims.

Tyquan Hilliard was shocked to find out that a “high-ranking member” of the Bloods was talking to his mom behind his back. Officials didn’t have a clue there was a mole in the New Jersey field office of the Department of Justice, until somebody listened to a jail-house call that Tyqan had with his mom. He was serving six years at the time, for possession of a loaded firearm. He found out at the same time officials did, that one of the OG’s “told Hilliard to use her access at work to determine whether people were cooperating with law enforcement.”

Tyquan wasn’t happy about it. The way CNN puts it is “the mother and son discussed other gang members who would ‘use violence’ against that ‘high-ranking member.'” Then, they point out specifically, “Tyquan was irritated that the member involved his mother.” The translation is that Tyquan was going to get some of his homies to mess the guy up good.

While Tyquan was between reservations at the gray bar hotel, and home with his mom, about the time he was arrested for a store robbery, “his mother tried to intimidate accomplices who had confessed.”

She leaked a tape that prosecutors were using as a trial exhibit, by uploading it to Youtube. There is no doubt she was setting the witness up for murder at the earliest opportunity. She put a price tag on John Doe’s head when she titled the video, “NYC Brim Gang Member Snitching Pt. 1.” Part 2 never made it to release, but that one featured Jane Doe.

John and Jane Doe admitted on the tapes that they took part in a robbery. John Doe helped Tyquan rob the store and Jane Doe drove the getaway car.

According to court records, the two men robbed an “AT&T store” in Monticello, New York. “The men threatened the store clerk and two shoppers with a gun and bound them with duct tape in a storage room. They fled the scene and led the police on a high-speed chase before crashing their car and being captured.”

That was bad enough but John couldn’t keep his mouth shut, and volunteered that Tyquan was a bigwig in the bunch. Then he started talking about real crimes. John Doe was “giving up murders, victims, shooters and all.”

Tawanna is currently free on $75,000 bond and pleaded not guilty. Her son Tyquan hasn’t been arraigned yet but there isn’t any hurry. He’ll be in a state prison working on an 11-year-sentence for robbery and assault. She’s been charged with six counts of felony witness tampering and harassment, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to tamper with a witness. Each one of those counts comes with a 20 year price tag.
