Minnesota’s controversial Democrat Ilhan Omar wants to do away with the terrorist watchlist. If she can’t get rid of it, then she at least wants it crippled.
Leading a pack of ten left-leaning representatives, Omar wrote a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. She wants to know nuts and bolts about the list, like exactly how the information is shared and who it is shared with.
Considering how tight she is with Nihad Awad, he probably gave her instructions to do it. Even If not, it’s more than likely that she’ll run and tell him everything she finds out, classified or not.
Awad is national Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Conservative Americans are convinced that CAIR is only one step removed from Hamas, Hezbollah, and other fanatics.
When Omar went in front of the TV cameras on Friday, she used Awad’s words.
“The Terrorist Screening Database is dangerous enough,” she quoted, “but even more so when shared with tyrannical regimes.”
Like the ones who actually do something about terrorists once they know who they are.
Of course, Rep. Rashida Tlaib was thrilled to sign off on the letter to Pompeo. “We are entitled to information as to which countries receive this sensitive and classified information,” they wrote.
“The federal government is sharing watchlist information with countries with dubious human rights records, including Saudi Arabia and China. It is unacceptable for U.S. resources to contribute to the brutal repression of political dissidents abroad.”
They demand Pompeo cough up specific information and they want it by the end of September.
“which countries get the data; what standards exist to determine whether the data is shared with foreign governments; whether foreign country’s human rights records are taken into account when making decisions on sharing; and how and whether a data-sharing agreement can be rescinded once reached.”
The big problem is that it turns out most terrorists are Muslims.
“The federal government keeps a secret watchlist of more than one million people, almost all of whom are Muslim, and treats these Muslims like second class citizens.”

“These” Muslims all have ties to terrorists so of course they are treated with suspicion. Awad and crew wants them to be left in peace to carry out their missions.
The FBI explains it isn’t that easy to get onto the list. It requires:
“reasonably suspected to be engaging in, has engaged in, or intends to engage in conduct constituting, in preparation for, in aid of, or related to terrorism and/or terrorist activities.”
The total list of radicals who signed the letter are:
Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Tim Ryan, Ayanna Pressley, Earl Blumenauer, Jared Huffman, Mark Pocan, James McGovern, Al Green, Jesús García, and Jan Schakowsky.
