President Trump spoke to the American people from the Oval Office in his first direct message to the nation on Tuesday night. It cut into TV advertising dollars but the public who don’t watch Trump rallies got to see him.
The president looked calm and spoke directly to the people who he represents in his first address from his position in the Oval Office.
It was a perfect speech that gave eight minutes of facts that he told to Americans from coast to coast. Trump spoke of his protecting the nation; something that people like to hear from a presidential leader.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer appeared heartless and unmoved by American families who have lost someone to murder and other senseless crimes by illegal immigrants.
The congressional leaders did not come across as well. In fact, they looked old and tired to the point that they seemed to be uncaring of the American people and more in touch with illegal immigrants coming into this country.
The gruesome twosome (sorry, but I had to say it) basically just looked bad. The two of them stood stone faced and stared into the camera for longer than most wanted to see.
If this was a contest, Trump won it hands down. He looked very presidential. He spoke like a real leader.
It was rather clear last night that Trump was on the opposite side of the fence (pardon the pun) from Pelosi and Schumer.
The House Minority Leader, Steve Scalise, spoke and tweeted his views on Pelosi and Schumer denying that we have a crisis at the border. You can view it here:
For Democrats to call the crisis at our southern border a fabrication is a denial of reality. They need to bring a viable solution to the table and negotiate with @realDonaldTrump. pic.twitter.com/9qTtkEcPA2
