by Daveda Gruber:

Early Thursday morning is when Senators got their first look at the FBI’s background investigation on sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Then a the awaited series of votes will begin. The scenario will most likely go on into the weekend.

The report should be rather important for wavering senators to decide which way to vote. Lawyers for accuser Christine Blasey Ford are carefully examining the report.

The report is said to show no evidence corroborating the allegations of sexual assault or misconduct against the nominee.

The review is said to include interviews with nine people and a a sworn statement from another. This went beyond the original Senate request for interviews with four people. The FBI did not dive into Kavanaugh’s drinking habits in high school. This has become one area of contention because the Senate did not formally request the information.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley tweeted:

Last week the FBI was tasked by President Trump to look into allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against Kavanaugh by three women. The investigation began after Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary last week about her claims against the federal judge. Ford is the first woman to come forward.

The White House has already received the FBI’s supplemental background investigation into Kavanaugh. The White House is “fully confident” that President Trump’s pick will eventually be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Attorneys for Ford were not pleased that the FBI background investigation did not interview Ford.

The California professor has accused Kavanaugh of pinning her to a bed during a house party in Maryland in the early 1980s and attempted to remove her clothes and put his hand over her mouth when she tried to scream.

The statement read, “An FBI supplemental background investigation that did not include an interview of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford nor the witnesses who corroborate her testimony cannot be called an investigation. We are profoundly disappointed that after the tremendous sacrifice she made in coming forward, those directing the FBI investigation were not interested in seeking the truth.”

Ford told the committee that she was “100 percent” certain that Kavanaugh was her attacker. Kavanaugh has strongly denied the allegations.

In a letter to the committee, Mark Judge, a friend of Kavanaugh’s, previously said he did “not recall the events described by Dr. Ford in testimony nor did he see “Brett act in the manner Dr. Ford describes.” He was among those interviewed by the FBI.

Deborah Ramirez was also interviewed by the FBI. Ramirez had accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her during a party while they were students at Yale University.

Kavanaugh’s fate is ultimately in the hands of at least three Republican senators. They are Jeff Flake, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., is facing a re-election battle and has also has said he will make his decision after the FBI probe.

Republicans have 51 positional votes in the Senate and Democrats have 49. In the event of a tie Vice President Mike Pence would be the deciding vote.

Democrats are already kicking up a storm saying that Kavanaugh is too partisan for the job.

We know the Democrats don’t want Kavanaugh. They have made that very clear. What we do need is Republicans voting YES like they should do.

The CIRCUS will be in full view for the next few days.
