In spite of the fact that a newly discovered batch of negative text messages and other facts that Republicans said show an ‘insider bias’ on the investigative team, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein stayed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe on Wednesday.
Rosenstein appointed Mueller and has overseen the Russia probe since Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself. He testified before the House Judiciary Committee and faced a hard examination from GOP representatives.
Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said, “This is unbelievable said public trust in the probe is gone.”
They focused on anti-Trump text messages exchanged between two FBI agents who once worked on the Mueller team.
Hours before Rosenstein’s testimony, the Justice Department released hundreds of texts messages between two FBI officials, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. They worked on Mueller’s team and were romantically involved. Many texts were grossly anti-Trump and pro-Clinton.
In one text from August 2016, Page forwarded a Donald Trump-related article to Strzok, writing: “And maybe you’re meant to stay where you are because you’re meant to protect the country from that menace.”
Yes, Trump was referred to as a menace by Page.
Strzok replied: “Thanks. It’s absolutely true that we’re both very fortunate. And of course I’ll try and approach it that way. I just know it will be tough at times. I can protect our country at many levels, not sure if that helps.’”
Another text from March 2016, Page texted Strzok, “God, Trump is a loathsome human.”
Strzok responded. “Good for Hillary.”
Later the same day, Strzok texted Page, “Omg (Trump’s) an idiot.”
“He’s awful,” replied Page.
Republicans have raised concerns that some investigators may be biased. It sure looks that way to me.
The texts were given to the House Judiciary Committee. These officials no longer work on the Mueller probe.
Being brought to the front were their political donations to past work representing top Democratic figures and their alliance to groups including the Clinton Foundation.
How many other players on Mueller’s team are anti-Trump and would like to ‘get him’ at any cost?
I feel that no matter how bad it gets, Mueller is not being taken down. That’s not good news.
I am the ‘chief editor’ at the ‘The Trump Times’. I adore journalism. Politics seems to be my preferred genre although I do not hesitate to write anything that strikes me as interesting. Researching and finding ‘Breaking News’ makes my blood rush. I’ve written seventeen books and over that including books in conglomeration with others, mostly for charity.
Doing graphic art design has always been fun for me. Sometimes I incorporate this talent into my articles or when a special ‘feature picture’ is required.
