The new Miss USA, Kara McCullough, representing the District of Columbia, was born in Naples, Italy, and raised in Virginia Beach, Va. She said she wants to inspire children to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Kara was said to be the most intelligent contestant of the night. Her conservative views proved that to me.
McCullough was asked during Sunday night’s pageant whether she thinks that affordable health care for all U.S. citizens is a right or a privilege. She said it is a privilege.
She said, “As a government employee, I’m granted health care and I see firsthand that for one to have health care, you need to have jobs.”
Next, McCullough said, she likes to “transpose” the word feminism to “equalism.”
I happen to agree with her but some did not. Many went to Twitter to show their feelings about the winner and her thoughts on some matters.

Amid the controversy she did take the crown. Good for her.
