There seems to be a short list of people who are being considered for James Comey’s former job of FBI Director. Interviews are being done by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his deputy Rod Rosenstein.
Things are moving quickly since President Trump fired James Comey.
People said to be on the short list are a variety of potential choices.
The short is is as follows:
Ray Kelly, the former and longest-serving New York City police commissioner
Mike Rogers, former House Intelligence Committee chairman and former FBI agent
Former Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.
Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas
Paul Abbate, executive assistant director for the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch
Associate Judge of New York Court of Appeals Mike Garcia
Mayor of Colorado Springs John Suthers
Former federal appellate court Judge Michael Luttig, now executive vice president of Boeing
Larry Thompson, former deputy attorney general under President George W. Bush
Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe
Do you have a favorite? I do but I’m not so sure my favorite will be the choice. My belief is that many Trump voters have the same choice as me. Should I tell you? Well, okay; it’s Trey Gowdy. We will see what happens. Things seem to move quickly in the Trump administration.
