Remember Jonathan Gruber? I do. The name made people ask if I was related to him. I was Gruberized. I see it’s creeping back into my life and this time President Trump is getting some of the Jonathan Gruber crap thrown at him.
Jonathan Gruber, the co-architect of ObamaCare who disgracefully said “the stupidity of the American voter” helped get it to become law, now is blaming Trump for rising premium costs.
Gruber asked, “Whose fault is this? Since President Trump has been elected, premiums are going up and insurers are exiting.”
Gruber also had the nerve to say that Trump contributed to ObamaCare’s rising prices and fewer policy options for Americans because he “undercuts open enrollment.”
Shortly after taking office, Trump cut advertising days before the January 2017 signup deadline.
The man has the same name as me and said this? I feel disgusted.
A Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics professor, Gruber argued that alleged rising premium costs are really a one-time increase in 2016 to cover “massively under priced” policies for the first two years of the 2010 law.
He went on to say that the increase “fixed” the problem because insurance companies then showed signs of success and talked positively about continued partaking in ObamaCare.
Gruber knows how to talk his way into or out of many things but this is undermining the American people.
At this time, key ObamaCare insurers are pulling out of Iowa and Virginia exchanges, leaving many customers with one or no options and the state exchanges are in jeopardy of collapse.
Gruber was a top adviser but never a part of the Obama administration and was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for this.
A video surfaced in 2014 and Gruber is heard saying the administration called the so-called “Cadillac tax” on top-shelf, employer-based plans a tax on insurance policies, not people, to exploit voters’ “lack of economic understanding.”
In yet another video, Gruber says, “The stupidity of the American voter was really critical for the thing to pass.”
Okay, I’m not related to Jonathan Gruber and I am insulted that he thinks of me as a stupid American.
Do you believe a man who thinks you are stupid enough to be fooled into a healthcare system that will cost you a fortune?
I, personally, trust President Trump on providing affordable healthcare to Americans.
