President-elect Donald Trump’s ‘Day One’ team of cabinet choices have been made at a rapid rate. The Donald works quickly.
In an early morning announcement, Vice President-elect Mike Pence declared that former Georgia governor Sonny Perdue is Trump’s choice for secretary of agriculture.
Now, the entire cabinet is complete after 8,000 resumes were received for the 4,000 positions need to be filled, the transition team is complete. Duties will now be transferred to the White House personnel department.
Pence, being the man he is, made a gracious gesture to thank the transition team for its efforts. In an off the cuff remark, Pence said, “one thing you know when you see a box turtle on a fence post is he had help getting there.”
The transition was completed on schedule and under budget, a way Trump just manages to do things. Now, 20 percent of the budget will be returned to the U.S Treasury.

Perdue, to quote the New York Times, they say, “he’s a onetime veterinarian who was elected in 2003 as Georgia’s first Republican governor since Reconstruction, campaigned heavily for Mr. Trump in the final months of the presidential race, although he had initially backed a rival, former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas.”
